ESP32-S3 Robotic Board: The Heart of Your BitBeam Robot

The ESP32-S3 Robotic Board is a compact and highly integrated development board designed specifically for ambitious robotics and automation projects. Thanks to the combination of the powerful ESP32-S3 chip and a complete set of peripherals, it eliminates the need for multiple expansion boards – everything for building a robot is integrated onto a board measuring 68 mm x 50 mm.


Mechanical Gripper

Introducing the Mechanical Gripper, a module designed as an ideal addition to projects such as a robotic arm, a mobile robot, or a tower crane. Like other BitBeam models, the gripper is designed to efficiently demonstrate fundamental mechanical principles.


Dowel Pins: Elegant Connection without Nuts (for M3 and M4 Screws)

The BitBeam building system offers flexible connection options, whether using 3D-printed pins or classic screws. For metric systems, these are M4 screws and smaller M3 (for special applications), and for regions with imperial units, the corresponding 8-32 and 4-40 variants. While these screws ensure high strength, working with nuts (metric or imperial) can be tedious and difficult in confined spaces.


Train MINI

We present three building instructions for assembling a train consisting of a locomotive and two types of freight wagons. The entire set consists of 198 parts. As usual, we recommend printing the bricks from PLA and the pins and shafts from PET-G.


Gears

Whether you need rotational transmission, torque transfer at 90°, or linear motion, gears will help you achieve it. The BitBeam construction set offers a wide range of gears. In this article, we will introduce them and showcase the available mechanisms provided by the set.


Small Tree

The small tree has many uses, it can serve as a decorative element near a road. It can be a useful decoration in a zoo, or part of a forest area. In this tutorial, we will show you how to build a simple spruce, fir, or other favorite conifer. The basic model consists of 9 parts: 8 beams and one longer pin.


Shafts, Wheels and Adapters

The construction kit features a system of printable shafts. In addition to the shafts that are native to the kit, many different motors have their own shaft sizes – driveshafts that need either to be reduced or directly connected with pins. In this article, we describe the basic variants and how to work with them.


Racing Formula MINI

We present to you a simple guide for assembling a basic racing formula. The model consists of 43 pieces, of which 26 are pins. We recommend printing the blocks from PLA, but the pins from PET-G.


Screws, Pins, Shafts

Individual parts of the construction set are connected either by M4 screws or printed pins. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages. In this guide, we will describe both variants. We will also discuss printed shafts and how they differ from connecting pins.
